Kelowna-based startup Two Hat Security has been named as a finalist in the BCIC-New Ventures Competition. Starting with a field of 147 startup technology companies, Two Hat and the other finalists have completed three jury rounds, attended education seminars, and met with business mentors before being named as one of the top 10 entrants in the contest.
Incorporated in 2012, Two Hat Security is dedicated to radically improve the security and safety of children’s games online, and has recently launched PottyMouthFilter.com to wide acclaim. Chris Priebe, founder of Two Hat and Potty Mouth Filter and an industry veteran in the safe chat space, realized that the current technology wasn’t keeping up to the real problems of chat. Filters and white/black lists weren’t adapting as quickly as chat patterns, and Priebe and his team are revolutionizing how we think about moderation.
The finalists will next pitch in-person to a private jury on September 12th and 13th for the chance to win a portion of the $306,000 in cash and prizes being offered. The winners will be announced at the 13th annual BCIC-New Ventures Competition Awards Ceremony on September 25th.
